New Hope Ministries International Church of God in Christ (COGIC), formerly known as New Hope Pentecostal, was founded upon humble and God-given beginnings in 2001 under the direct influence and leadership of Pastor Dwight Shields. The name New Hope Pentecostal was a correlation of Hope Ministries, a non-denominational ministry. The pushing of a West Georgia campus-based ministry helped to launch the first services in a Carrollton, (West) Georgia hotel on a Tuesday night in 2002. There were approximately five (5) members in attendance that night. This was the first of four (4) services that would be held in this location.

The Lord God began to speak to Dwight Shields, Pastor and Elder, about changing the location of the church ministry. It was the will of God that the church locates closer to home and immediately the ministry moved from Carrollton, Georgia to Norcross, Georgia in October of 2002. As God continued to move on the behalf of the church body, opened doors, and poured out his Spirit in a mighty way, the church ministry had to move from Norcross, Georgia to the Radisson Hotel in Tucker, Georgia in July of 2003. During one of the services at the Radisson Hotel, the Lord God spoke to Pastor Dwight Shield and said, "All I want you to do is show-up." The Lord God continued to speak these words and when the Pastor hearkened to His voice, the Lord God, once again, had a plan to show his hand in an awesome way.

During this time, Pastor Dwight Shields was led to return to his Church of God in Christ (COGIC) roots and joined the fellowship of the New Life District under the leadership of Superintendent Joseph E. Hogan and the late Bishop Chandler Owens. The Church of God in Christ was under the national leadership of the late Bishop Gilbert Earl (G.E.) Patterson. As God continued to show his mighty hands, the church ministry was relocated from the Radisson Hotel to 1901 Montreal Road - Suite 120 in Tucker, Georgia where God moved and blessed the men of the church ministry to take an empty warehouse and transform it into a beautiful sanctuary within a week's time at the request of Pastor Dwight Shields. The Sanctuary Dedication Service was held on Sunday, October 5, 2003 and God began to move the membership numbers as well as open doors for television broadcasting opportunities.

On December 14, 2004, the church ministry relocated to the current location of 3290 Tobie Grant Lane, Scottdale, Georgia 30079 and the first service was held on December 16, 2004. In 2009, the official name of the church ministry was changed from New Hope Pentecostal to New Hope Ministries. In that same year of 2009, the Lord God moved upon the Pastor's heart to partially change the name of the church ministry by adding "International" to reflect the broad and global scope of ministry in London, Abuja, Nigeria (Africa), Cocoa Cay Islands, and Nassau, Bahamas.

In August of 2012, Pastor Dwight Shields became Superintendent of the New Hope District under the leadership of Bishop Joseph E. Hogan and the North Central Georgia Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
  • We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.
  • We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  • We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
  • We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for Him.
  • We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
Transforming our present world through a personal relationship with Christ.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This scripture tells us that the way we are transformed or help to transform others is by the renewing of our minds and putting off our own negative and corrupt thinking and putting on God's Thoughts. A "renewed and transformed mind," is one that has "put off" any corrupt thinking and "put on" the Mind of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Through putting off old things and putting on new things, we develop a stronger and more personal relationship with Christ ("the anointing").
Establishing a place of hope by developing the entire man (spirit, mind, and body) that will change communities globally through the spirit of love.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

These scriptures remind us that the new commandment is to love one another as we love ourselves. This is the way that all men will know that we are Disciples of Christ and that we truly have love one to another. How can we not love our brothers and sisters but love God? It is impossible to develop our spirit, mind, and body along with changing our communities without being able to show that we truly love each other and other people.
